I remember the first multi-player (people on different computers) video game I ever played, it was Wolfenstein 3D. Getting it working was not trivial, being before the internet got popular and set in Novell Netware’s heyday, you need an IPX/SPX device driver working to get the other Wolfenstein computers to link up. I loved the game on the Commodore 64 with its cheesy Achtung! gravely voice sound affects but it was awesome.
Today is Wolfenstein 3D’s twentieth birthday. It led to the blockbuster 3D games of Doom and Quake. You can play it here online and also the iPad version is free today.
Speaking of Nazi’s, no surprise that the Netherlands has passed a net neutrality law, they don’t have the RIAA or the MPAA heavily lobbying their politicians.
Microsoft is paying into a carbon offset program, meaning instead of burning coal they are burning money. Probably to keep Green Peace off their backs. Biggest scam in the world.
